Selah Chamberlain began studying acupuncture in 1979, at the College of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture based in Royal Leamington Spa, England.
After 5 1/2 years of practicing pure Five Element Acupuncture in England, the attended the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco, obtaining his California Acupuncture License in 1988.
He returned to his practice in England until he went to Guangzhou, China for five months in 1994 to further his education in the use of herbs. There he was able to study with such noted doctors as Liu Shichang (general and internal medicine), Chen Hanzhang (dermatology) and Ouyang Huiqing (gynecology) because of his familiarity with the Chinese language.
He left England for good at the end of 1995, and opened his practice in Taos in 1997. Working as an acupuncturist for over 40 years, you can trust in his experience and professional technique.

In over 25 years of practice, Dr. Chamberlain has combined his understanding of different approaches to acupuncture with his experience of Chinese Herbal Medicine and his readings in the Chinese medical classics into a unique and effective form of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
His approach recognizes that our bodies and minds are superbly designed to deal with almost everything life throws at us, reinforcing our own strengths, so we can heal problems rather than just tackling symptoms of the problem.
During your appointment with Dr. Chamberlain, you will undergo a thorough medical history evaluation and physical exam to identify any potential imbalances. He will carefully examine several areas of your body, including your skin, tongue, hair, nails, eyes, and pulses on each wrist. By utilizing a range of traditional Chinese medicine therapies, Dr. Chamberlain will work to correct any imbalances and improve your overall wellbeing. Rest assured that your health and comfort are our top priorities throughout the process.
